About Cloth & Co
Cloth & Co is an Australian womenswear brand specialising in natural fibre garments made in limited quantities by skilled artisan makers in India and the Himalayas.
Founded by mother and daughter Caroline and Daisy Burgess, Cloth & Co exists to create beautiful, considered clothing while supporting people and traditional craft. The brand is built around three pillars: People, Planet and Purpose.
Cloth & Co designs timeless, versatile wardrobe pieces that are intended to be worn often, cared for and kept, rather than replaced with changing trends.
What Cloth & Co makes
Cloth & Co creates women’s clothing designed for everyday wear, layering and longevity. The collection includes:
• Dresses
• Skirts
• Pants and tailoring
• Knitwear
• Shirts and tops
• Everyday wardrobe foundations
All garments are produced in small batches to avoid overproduction and to maintain close relationships with the makers who create them.
Natural fibres and materials
Cloth & Co specialises in natural fibres chosen for comfort, durability and reduced environmental impact. These include:
• GOTS certified organic cotton
• Giza cotton
• RWS certified merino wool
• GCS certified cashmere
• Linen
• Hemp
Natural fibres are biodegradable, breathable and age more beautifully than synthetic alternatives. They are chosen to ensure garments can be worn year after year without losing their quality or comfort.
Where possible, Cloth & Co avoids the use of synthetic fibres and plastic based materials.
How Cloth & Co garments are made
Cloth & Co works with specialist maker units in India and the Himalayan region that focus on skilled workmanship, ethical employment and long term relationships.
Key partners include:
Women Fibre to Fashion
A women’s stitching unit in Delhi, India that provides stable, fairly paid work to women who have been impacted by human trafficking and economic vulnerability.
Panchachuli Women Weavers
A women’s weaving collective in the Himalayan region that preserves traditional handloom weaving while supporting sustainable livelihoods in remote mountain communities.
These partnerships allow Cloth & Co to produce garments with transparency, accountability and genuine social impact.
Design philosophy
Cloth & Co garments are designed to be:
• Timeless rather than trend driven
• Easy to wear and layer
• Made for repeated use
• Refined but relaxed
• Suitable for a modern, considered wardrobe
Each piece is created to sit naturally within a capsule wardrobe, allowing women to build outfits that work across seasons rather than being replaced every year.
Small batch production
Cloth & Co produces garments in limited quantities. This approach allows the brand to:
• Avoid excess stock and waste
• Maintain high quality standards
• Support small maker units
• Preserve exclusivity
• Reduce environmental impact
Limited production also ensures that each garment remains special and not mass produced.
