JHARKHAND STITCHING UNIT

JHARKHAND STITCHING UNIT

Our Jharkhand factory is a family owned and run business with SA-8000, GOTS and Fairtrade certificates, and use OEKO-TEX Standard 100 dyes to product 100% organic cotton garments.

Operating since 1979 the owners take great pride in their business with a policy for ethical and sustainable practices and a responsibility towards nature and people, understanding that the well-being of the human race is possible only in harmony with nature.

The facility only employs local people from the surrounding villages with 80% of them women. All employees are paid a living wage, which covers the worker’s basic needs such as cost of accommodation, food, medical care, the schooling for children and some savings; this is the core element of their social responsibility. The facility also provides an employment framework which promotes well-being, career and personal development, genuine communication and consultation and a fair reward for our staff.

In addition to their certifications around production, our Agra stitching unit has also partnered with Upmade as part of a zero waste initiative towards up-cycling fabric waste, plus the entire unit is run off a solar plant for energy.
